First, people planning their wedding are probably hesitant to entrust their reception entertainment to anyone other than the Beatles or Van Morrison themselves,70-238 because…”what if the band is no good?” If the band is no good, well then you have a major problem, just like if the caterer burns the chicken or forgets the wine, microsoft 70-270 big problem when you only have one chance to have your wedding! I think people fall back on a DJ who plays the songs straight from the CD’s so that they know 100%…the music will be “good”. But we all know music that’s not live can never be GREAT….it can only be good, exam 70-271 or “status quo” as they say. The energy on the dance floor you can attain with a DJ is far inferior from that which can be attained with a GREAT live band like Scott and his crew represent. And the second reason I think people shy away from a Live band at their wedding is COST
Scott was fantastic!! We did not give him very much direction but he took what we gave him and added to it…thus making our ceremony very beautiful! He was such an integral part of our ceremony. He played beautifully! I am happy that we choose him. His years of experience shine through his music and through his professionalism. Thanks Scott!!
Scott played 3 songs from one of my favorite movies, “Love Actually,” during our wedding ceremony on February 28, 2009 at the Como Park Conservatory…it was wonderful! He was professional, easy to work with, and willing to learn new music. Everything was perfect. Thank you Scott!!!
Scott played Hendrix’s “Little Wing” as I walked down the eisle at my wedding—-And it was perfect! He met with me beforehand and we spoke about what I wanted. He took the time to understand my vision, and executed it flawlessly. Scott was a pleasure to work with, and I very highly recommend him.

Morning Scott,
We can’t thank you enough! Our day was absolutely perfect and we received tons of compliments on our music so thank you! Glad everything worked out so smoothly.
You did an excellent job! I had compliments from many. My son was so worried he was the only one dancing towards 9:30 and I explained that we had already discussed that since I have a bit of an older crowd, it was not going to be a lot of all night dancing as you see with people in their twenties and a dance floor at other types of receptions. I will recommend you to anyone looking for tasteful, wonderful music for their wedding.

Hey Scott,
Thank you for doing such a great job. Sorry I never got a chance to introduce myself before the wedding, the afternoon just got away from me! Anyway, thanks again, and we’ll definitely keep you in mind for any other events that we hear about and/or throw.

Hi,
The music that you played for our wedding was fabulous. You helped to make our ceremony meaningful and beautiful. I am glad that you played for us and hope to hear your music again in the future.
Scott,
Here is the Jingle and one of the commercials for Leo’s South. The
commercials are all aired on stations south of the Twin Cities. Let me know
if you want to have a listing and I’ll forward it to you.
Thanks for your playing. It was fun.
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Here’s a nice note from the party you played in the barn a few weeks back…
I told her that I’d forward her message to you (“Nearvana”).
Ned Kantar
Hey Ned, we just wanted to say thank you for hooking us up with the band that you did for our wedding! They were absolutely fabulous! Way better than what we imagined! What was there name? Do they have a contact so we could send them a thank you card! :) Thank you so much! We will definitely go through you again in the future for parties! We loved it! :)
Dear Scott,
I just wanted to take a moment to express Sarah and I’s sincerest appreciation for your amazing service, communication/planning, and performance both before and at our wedding reception June 21st, 2008. Your solo guitar work was fantastic during the dinner hour, as countless numbers of my guests were commenting on your style and performance all evening. As if you were not great enough on your own, once we “took the roof off” after dinner with you and the other 3 members of the band you assembled to play with you for 3 amazing hours, my guests and myself were just plain blown away with the way you and your group nailed hit after hit, some songs, in my(very sober)opinion, even better than the original artists who wrote them….probably the best 3 hours of dance music anyone at a wedding could ever dream of, let alone have at their wedding. I wanted to tell you that in the span of 10 minutes about an hour into your groups performance, I had 5 different guests tell me they were waiting for you guys to play a song that “let them leave the dance floor for a breather or a drink”. So there you have it….you guys sounded so great people simply could not get enough of you. I’ve never in my life heard of a band that saved us money on the open bar tab but you guys might just have done it with your talent!
I wanted to take a moment to say a few words to folks who might be considering hiring Scott and his fellow musicians to perform at their wedding, and please, contact me directly if you like(Scott, OK to give out my e-mail address), but here’s what I have to say:
I think in this day in age, live music is becoming rarer and rarer at weddings, for 2 reasons. First, people planning their wedding are probably hesitant to entrust their reception entertainment to anyone other than the Beatles or Van Morrison themselves, because…”what if the band is no good?” If the band is no good, well then you have a major problem, just like if the caterer burns the chicken or forgets the wine, big problem when you only have one chance to have your wedding! I think people fall back on a DJ who plays the songs straight from the CD’s so that they know 100%…the music will be “good”. But we all know music that’s not live can never be GREAT….it can only be good, or “status quo” as they say. The energy on the dance floor you can attain with a DJ is far inferior from that which can be attained with a GREAT live band like Scott and his crew represent. And the second reason I think people shy away from a Live band at their wedding is COST. People don’t think twice about paying some DJ with a microphone $800-$1000 to show up with a rack of CD’s and some speakers and a fog machine, but somehow are hesitant to pay a bit more for an amazing live band. Well here’s what I did, because when it came to our wedding, we were not watching the budget to closely because it’s a once in a lifetime event and we cound not put a price tag on that: We hired BOTH a DJ and Scott and his band. We had Scott and the band play for 3 hours and then let the DJ finish out the night with 2 hours of songs…and I can tell you this with 100% certainty: If I had it to do over again, I would have CANNED the DJ, hired Scott and his band for the entire night, and been even happier. The few rap songs, etc… on CD that you want to hear that the band would not do could be played during set breaks and in between here and there. Scott, with his wonderful personality and gentle manner, could make a few of the introductions and toasts that you need at a wedding….and that pretty much cancels out your need for a DJ altogether. Plus, it’s simpler, and simpler is better! Had I known how great the band is, that’s what I would have done different. Spoken from a guy who could do it anyway he wanted with no reasonable budget to large.
I hope this helps you and your lover plan the music at your special day/event. Good luck to you.
As for Scott Dercks…..
Scott….from one musician to another…Dave Matthews and Mic Jagger may be more famous than either of us, but those people will not live on forever in the hearts and souls of me and my wedding guests like you and your band members will. When I remember my wedding reception, your 4 beautiful faces are live and in person!!! And “platinum famous” or not, you can’t put a price tag on making other people happy.
I will never forget you and the shear joy you brought to my family and friends. “thank you”.
Warmest regards,
Dr. David Biggar

I wanted to thank you for giving me a CD copy of your music. I found it
delightful. I listened to it twice at work Monday night and again driving
today. Previously I have heard you play part of “Over the Rainbow”. I
don’t know what I expected - I guess a lot more rock and roll as that is
what you play with Will. Instead it was very lovely guitar playing. I
loved it. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for playing at my party! It was a great success thanks to you performing. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the music. I think you are terrific and I look forward to having you play again some time. I remember you said you played at my friends church fellowship. Do you play a lot of Christian music as well? It would be good to know since my mom is a minister and always has church related events, but she would want Christian music as her venues. Anyway, let me know so I tell people want you can do.
Thank you again,
Danitra M. Easton-Hage
Thank you Scott for a wonderful experience. You beat me to the punch on thank yous. I was suppose to do them on Sunday, but all I could do was sleep!
I’m really glad we talked and you were available. Your playing really made a nice touch to what I wanted to achieve. I had people asking me all night about you and I wished that I had gotten cards from you, but I did tell them to google you and look for your web site.
I hope to be able to have you again at another function. Thanks again and I’ll be out to check out a show soon.
Want a private party serenade? Great guitar guy for rent for Holiday Parties!! Call Scott
I am strongly recommending Scott R. Dercks as an option for YOU to consider having at your upcoming Holiday Parties or Events-he is fantastic!
I have been attending in informal “jam session” monthly for a year at a local bar in Roseville called Dean’s Tavern. It is located on Rice Street just south of the Highway 36 exit (heading toward the State Capitol.) Scott plays lead guitar with an array of other musicians and vocalists at these jam sessions when he is in town to entertain guests AND to keep his skills sharp. A gal pal who is taking lessons in drumming from the lead drum person got me interested in this event. I have been a faithful attendee ever since!
Scott plays all types of music from jazz to rock to soul and everything in between! Last Sunday the group began with a standard by Miles Davis “Kind of Blue” and then they switched up to “Isn’t She Lovely?” the soulful ballad of love from father to newborn daughter by Stevie Wonder! This talented group called “Who NU” can play anything………….and they sound fabulous!
When I talked to Scott last Sunday between sets he said that he plays solo gigs at places like the California Café in Mall of America in Bloomington. If you’d like to retain Scott’s versatile musical services he can be reached 763-789-1557 or at the website listed in his email attached. He is professional by any standard and give you tips on vocalists or other side musicians if you like. He knows the local entertainment scene very well. He’s an all round nice guy!

I just saw your posting on myspace about the club you’re playing at and that reminded me that I forgot to tell you how much I appreciated that you played a little backup to Shawn’s guitar while we were waiting for the girls to come into the pavilion at our wedding in June. It sounded wonderful and you did a great job on the mix - the songs they performed sounded great as well.
Hope all is well,
-Rich
Dear Scott, Thanks for the outstanding job at my wedding. Everybody enjoyed listening to your music and your selections were perfect!
You’re an awesome guitarist!
Hi Scott, We sure have liked listening to your demo CD. I think it’s been played 20 or 30 times since I got it. My wife plays it all the time and when my daughter comes over she wants me to play it for her. She wants me to make her a copy, I told her I would have to ask you if that was OK. Don’t want to get you mad at me for making a copy without asking you first.
Scott, I just listened to your tunes on your website. You are exceptional. Thank you for the ‘lift’ in my day of hearing someone play with soul, musicality and impecable intonation. (I happen to be ‘afflicted’ with perfect pitch, so am very critical in that area, particularly). I also am the keyboardist for Charo and hear her play regularly and am blown away by her talents. Also, do you have CDs available for sale? I would love to listen to more of your stuff. Sincerely, Patrick Karst
HI Scott, I listened to a couple of your tracks and they were great. I used to play the guitar, but I have not played like I used to play for years.I love the guitar sound and your style is great. Keep making good music. Take care
Kool site, Scott - thanks for the lead to it. So you’re a bassist, too. I’m an ex-bassman. My axe has a new home - awarded it to my Grand-son Mike. She (my ex-bass, now Mike’s) awaits his return from Sweden where he’s on a grant for Intel (insert audio-logo here). My bass playing was slowly diminished to termination by old man Art Itis - if I have to explin that one, it’ll be wasted. Thanks again for your response to my seeking BW&T’s 2 album.
Scott:
Just a quick note to thank you for your wonderful playing on the cd’s—-it really added some wonderful touches—-especially on La Besa, Viva Tirado, Blues Busters, and Funny Valentine. I start editing with Larry tomorrow afternoon and will keep you posted as to how things develop.
Take care and all best,
